Benefits

Someone trained in Deep Tissue Massage Therapy should have a more fluent understanding in working specific trigger points, and finding specific areas of stress. It combines firm pressure, slow flowing movement and incorporates pressure pointing of the trigger points (knots), which are bands of rigid and painful muscle tension.

As each therapist is trained differently, and all have varying amounts of experience, it is difficult to comapre. I personally, would love to give clients to give more feedback while attending to them, to learn their likes & dislikes, and letting me know what works & what doesn’t work for them.

I incorportae a sports massage machine to warm up the muscles and get the blood circulating a bit quicker, for a short time before my massage.

There are various movements and techniques used in this massage, including efflurage (gentle flowing movements to warm the muscles up), stripping (deep gliding pressure flowing with the muscle fibres), frictioning (applying pressure across the muscle fibres), pressure pointing (direct pressure into the adhesions causing pain & blockages).

Deep Tissue Massage can help sort thrsr issues out, but remember maintenance is key.

There are so many conditions that can cause pain & inflammation especially in the back, neck and glutes, it can severely hamper ones quality of life.

Things like fibromyalgia, sciatica, wry neck, plantar sascitis (in the feet), lower backpain etc, can all be addressed and relieved with Depp Tissue Massage

By reducing stress levels Deep Tissue Massage helps to lower the blood pressur, and also helps to increase your cortisol & seretonin levels – thus helping depression and sleeplessness

Breaks up scar tissue & makes movement easier

In areas where people have scar tissue, they often report chronic pain and stiffness.

Getting regular deep tissue massages can help break up this scar tissue by improving lymphatic circulation and drainage to improve flexibility and range of motion in the area of the scar tissue.

Many people who are recovering from surgery are often encouraged to get deep tissue massages to minimize scar tissue.

Reduces arthritis symptoms

Deep tissue massage therapy can be used to treat many different symptoms of arthritis, like pain, stiffness, limited range of motion in joints, and sleep issues.

Moderate pressure can reduce arthritis pain and ease tension, making it easier for those with arthritis to move around. It can also help with sleep issues by alleviating pain that may keep arthritis patients awake at night.

Rehabilitates injured muscles

If you have injured muscles, a deep tissue massage can help stretch tight or twisted muscles and can also facilitate the movement of toxins from your muscles.

Deep tissue massage therapy is used frequently to treat sports-related injuries. Many athletes are incorporating deep tissue massage into their recovery protocols, as they can help delay the onset of muscle soreness, help with muscle fatigue, and prevent injuries.
